Canadian automotive OEM opens latest automotive exteriors plant in Mexico

Magna International (Aurora, Ontario / Canada; www.magna.com) has celebrated the grand opening of its new exteriors facility in Queretaro / Mexico. The 27,000 m2 plant includes a state-of-the-art injection moulding and robotic paint line, and will supply global automotive producers with moulded and painted parts, including fascias, bumpers and rocker panels. The facility employs about 700 workers.
The Queretaro plant is the automotive OEM’s 30th facility in the North American country. Magna first established operations in Mexico in 1991, and today employs close to 25,000 workers in the country, which has become a hub for automotive production.
