Automotive assembly joint venture created in China / New plant in Hangzhou
Automotive parts supplier Magna International (Aurora, Ontario / Canada; www.magnaint.com) said its Magna Exteriors operation has formed a 50:50 joint venture with Chinese company Chongqing Guangneng Rongneng Trim (Chongqing / China; http://www.guangneng.com.cn/en_About.asp) to supply the automotive market. The newly created company, named Magna Guangneng Automotive Trim System (Hangzhou), will build and operate a greenfield facility in Hangzhou / China that will assemble and sequence front-end modules.

Joe Pittel, global president of Magna Exteriors, Interiors and Seating, stated: "Through this new strategic partnership with Chongqing, and in recognition of the growing China market, we are continuing to expand our presence in the region." Chongqing has a strong presence in the China supply base, he added.
