Blow moulding machinery manufacturer Magic MP (Monza / Italy; www.magicmp.it) has taken over the brand name and expertise of its competitor Automa BM (Valsamoggia / Italy; www.automabm.it) for an undisclosed sum, local media have reported. A Turkish company had apparently been interested in Automa, but Magic MP eventually stepped in so as not to "jeopardise its home market." The Italian companies will have a joint stand for the first time at the upcoming "Plast" (www.plastonline.org) trade fair in Milan.

A manufacturer of compact machines designed to produce containers in smaller lots, Automa slid into insolvency in 2014 and has been split up. PET blow moulding machinery maker Sipa (Vittorio Veneto / Italy; www.sipa.it) bought Automa's injection stretch blow moulding machines – see Plasteurope.com of 05.12.2014 – while the core area of the brand went to OverEngineering (Cadriano / Italy).
