MAACK BUSINESS SERVICES
Takeover by Access Intelligence / Chemical Week owner will organise “Dubai Plast Pro” in March
Maack Business Services (MBS, Zurich / Switzerland; www.mbspolymer.com), leading plastics industry consultant and event organiser, has been acquired by Access Intelligence (AI, Rockville, Maryland / USA; www.accessintel.com), the international information and marketing company that owns SRI Consulting (Menlo Park, California / USA; www.sriconsulting.com) and the trade publications “Chemical Week” and “Chemical Engineering”. Horst Maack, who has run Maack Business Services since 1980, will remain with the company “in a management advisory” role.
AI said the takeover of MBS’ global activities will enhance its position in the global chemical and plastics industries and complement its other brands. John Pearson, president of the AI chemical civision, said his company is “very excited about the opportunities to assemble the worldwide polymer and plastics communities at current and future MBS events.”
The first event to be organised by Access Intelligence following the acquisition will be the 13th “Dubai Plast Pro 2010”, to be held from 21-24 March in Dubai. The new owner also will organise the Maack events “PEPP 2010” (14-20 June in Zurich), “Speciality Plastic Films 2010” (21-26 October in Düsseldorf / Germany) and “Polyester and PET Chain 2010” (12-14 December in Zurich).
