LYONDELLBASELL
Polymer with transparency for high-density packaging films
US polyolefin giant LyondellBasell (LYB, Houston, Texas; www.lyondellbasell.com) has launched a high-density polymer for advanced packaging films and technical film applications that has high transparency.

The company says the Luflexen hyPE56PFA is suited for the production of bags, food and pet food packaging. The polymer can also be used to produce mono-material films ranging in thickness from 10 to over 100 microns, and is designed for ease of processing in the production of extruded blown films. The polymer is compatible with machine direction orientation (MDO), which is necessary for the creation of mono-PE packaging, LYB added.

Luflexen hyPE65PFA meets stringent food-contact regulations, and, the company claims, the fossil-based material can be fully recycled.
