Austria’s Greiner (Kremsmünster; www.greiner-gpi.com) is using LyondellBasell’s (Houston, Texas, USA; www.lyondellbasell.com) newly developed recycled polymer, CirculenRevive, to make coffee capsules for Nestlé (Vevey, Switzerland; www.nestle.com).

Used for the Nescafe Dolce Gusto brand, the polymers are derived from an advanced – or chemical – recycling process. The relevant sites at both LyondellBasell and Greiner are certified under the ISCC Plus scheme.

LyondellBasell said it aims to produce and market 2 mn t/y of recycled and renewable-based polymers by 2030. The company launched a suite of Circulen products in April 2021 (see Plasteurope.com of 30.04.2021).
