Cooperation with Hyundai for manufacture of PP compounds in India
In a step towards realising its investment plans in India – see Plasteurope.com of 25.06.2008 – LyondellBasell Industries (LBI, Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) has signed an agreement with Hyundai Engineering Plastics (HEP, Dangjin-Gun / South Korea; www.hyundai-ep.com) to manufacture its “Hostacom” and “Hifax” polypropylene compounds at HEP’s plant in Chennai, Tamil Nandu / India.
The agreement widens the existing cooperation between the two companies, dating back to 2006, when LyondellBasell undertook to produce, market and sell HEP’s “Supol” materials in North America and Europe.
Hostacom and Hifax compounds are mostly found in automotive applications and white goods.
