LyondellBasell (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.lyondellbasell.com) has appointed Brenntag UK and Ireland (Leeds / UK; www.brenntag.co.uk) as UK distributor for its propylene oxide (PO) derivative product range, effective 1 July 2009. LyondellBasell started working with Brenntag in Germany in the 1980s and has largely consolidated its distribution network in Europe with Brenntag over the past ten years.

Simon Goswell, LyondellBasell’s vice president of chemical sales in Europe said: “Through this agreement, we achieve greater economies of scale and reduce supply chain complexity for our customers by offering a single channel for the company’s PO derivatives in the UK.” Propylene oxide serves as raw material for the production of polyols.
