Preform producer LuxPET S.A. (L-4940 Bascharage; www.luxpet.com) shifted production to Bascharage / Luxembourg near the border with Belgium. The company, which is part of the Schoeller Wavin group, has been experiencing impressive growth rates and recently increased its preform capacity by 300 million units to a total of 900m units. LuxPET´s seven production lines are running at full capacity and some 30,000 t of polymers are processed per year.

The company rates itself as a low-cost-producer, which emphasises high quality. With a staff of only 27, turnover in 2002 is expected to reach EUR 37-38m against EUR 25m in 2001. Some 60% of turnover is generated in Germany.
