Contract awarded by Petronas for world scale cracker project / License and engineering design of five petrochemical units in Malaysia
Lummus Technology, a subsidiary of engineering, procurement and construction specialist CB&I (The Woodlands, Texas / USA; www.cbi.com), has been awarded a contract by Malay oil giant Petronas (Kuala Lumpur; www.petronas.com) for the license and engineering design work for five petrochemicals units. The project is part of the new “refinery and petrochemicals integrated development” (RAPID) project to be located in Johor / Malaysia. The company will be providing technology for a world scale steam cracker complex comprising ethylene, butadiene, benzene, isobutylene and MTBE production units.
