With effect from 17 October 2022, US-based Loparex (Cary, North Carolina; www.loparex.com) said it plans to raise prices for engineered films and release liners from its European and American production, citing “the significant price and surcharge inflation seen across the entirety of the value chain”. The company said information on the price hike could be provided by the customers’ respective regional contact.

Loparex noted that while it had until now been able to offset inflationary effects, the current market conditions require a price adjustment – the first since February 2022. The US firm produces paper liners and blow and moulded films in particular for graphics, tapes and electronics, construction, health care, hygiene, label, and composites applications.

In 2020, Loparex completed the integration of German film producer Infiana (see Plasteurope.com of 27.08.2020), which had previously been the films division of Finland’s Huhtamaki. In addition to the former Infiana production in Forchheim, Germany, the manufacturer has plants in China, India, the Netherlands, and the US.
