New blade facility under construction in Poland
Wind power rotor blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber (Lunderskov / Denmark; www.lmglasfiber.com) has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Goleniów / Poland. The factory, the company’s third in northern Europe, is expected to become its largest facility in the region. It will supply blades for the fast growing multi-MW turbine segment and will manufacture blades of over 60m in length.
The factory will be built on an area of 280,000 m². In the initial phase, it should provide work for more than 250 employees and an annual manufacturing capacity of 750MW. The first teams of employees are already being trained and qualified in Denmark. Supply from the new factory is expected to begin at the end of 2008.
