Irish aerosol valve moulder set for expansion / Transfer to new plant at end of 2003
A specialised injection moulder of components for use in aerosol valves, Litec Moulding (Finisklin Industrial Estate, Sligo, County Sligo, Republic of Ireland) is undergoing a major expansion with the building of a new 5,100 m2 factory. Work will start in October and the plant is due on line at the end of 2003. A building extension for warehousing and general expansion is currently underway at its existing 1,500 m2 premises.
The Sligo-based injection moulding facility is an exclusive supplier to the Lindal Group, which produces over two billion aerosol valves of 20 different types annually. Litec Moulding was established in July 2000 with an E5m investment and a staff of just two. Now it has 34 people and 16 injection moulding machines, together with two assembly machines and three laser units. The staff is expected to increase to 50 in the short term as more employees are recruited for LitecĀ“s product control operations.
Litec Moulding was recently awarded ISO 9001 quality accreditation. It has a scrap rate of only 1.5% on over 30 million parts produced every week.
