LINPAC
Two new PP packaging films / Suitable for sealing a variety of PP trays / Achieve best shelf life targets
Multi-material food packaging company Linpac Packaging (Knottingley, West Yorkshire / UK; www.linpacpackaging.com) has introduced two PP packaging films formulated to seal on a variety of PP trays. Both are suitable for use with fresh meat, poultry and fish, and are guaranteed to meet the best shelf life targets in the PP market, so enabling manufacturers, retailers and consumers to reduce food spoilage and waste. The two new products, “LINtop PP HB Lock Seal” and “LINtop PP HB Peelable” run smoothly on packaging lines and, says Linpac, will seal through any contamination to ensure a safe and secure pack is produced. They are being manufactured at the company’s flexible films site in Pontivy / France.
LINtop PP HB Lock Seal is available in two gauges, 35m and 42m. The 35m version is one of the lowest gauges on the market, resulting in cost savings and a lower carbon footprint in line with many retailers’ sustainability strategies. The Lock Seal grade is said to outperform the anti-fog qualities of other films and, because of its excellent transparency, to provide good on-shelf presentation.
LINtop PP HB Peelable, as its name suggests, offers safe and easy peelability, coming away from its tray in a single piece. It is competitive with the best market offerings for anti-fog efficiency and oxygen barrier performance, whilst outperforming most films for transparency qualities.
Commenting on the launch of the new films, which are part of Linpac Packaging’s “Fresh Thinking Innovation” strategy, vice president marketing & innovation, Jo Stephenson said: “LINtop film solutions are easy to handle and complement a wide range of PP trays, driving efficiency on the factory floor, providing a long shelf-life to food products, helping retailers reduce their waste, as well as keeping food fresh and looking attractive for longer.”
