LINPAC
Range of rPET packaging trays for meat and fish expanded / Performance matches virgin polymer / Choice of closure methods
Fresh food packaging specialist Linpac Packaging (Knottingley, West Yorkshire / UK; www.linpacpackaging.com) has added the “Rfresh MB” range to its portfolio of sustainable trays for meat and fish products. Rfresh MB trays contain up to 95% food grade, post-consumer PET recyclate, which Linpac says does not compromise on performance compared with virgin polymer. Key characteristics of the rPET tray include a high level of rigidity and an excellent barrier performance that is ideally suited to the packaging of poultry and fish products, keeping the contents fresher for longer. A PP base film layer provides stronger seal integrity and the tray can be closed with either a lock seal or peelable film.

The Rfresh MB trays complement the existing “Rfresh HB” and “Rfresh PP” ranges. The premium Rfresh HB trays are also made from 95% rPET and offer the maximum shelf life for both fish and meat. The Rfresh PP range incorporates a minimum level of recycled content and has a relatively low shelf life compared with others in the Rfresh family. However, the PP packs are suitable for use in the microwave and freezer.
