Plastic packaging specialist Linpac Packaging (Featherstone / UK; www.linpac.com) has extended its “Freshware” range of convenience food packaging to meet growing demand from the lunchtime “on the go” market for sweet and savoury foods.
“Vertiwrap”, a hinged box made from crystal clear rPET has been developed for wraps and tortillas. The box stands vertically on the shelf letting shoppers see the contents clearly and is suitable for two small wraps. It has been designed to offer maximum protection to food whilst retaining freshness, the company said.
A range of individual and twin-portion size “LeanBake” packs for baked confectionery such as gateaux, cakes, pastries, slices, biscuits and doughnuts has also been introduced. The packs are made from crystal clear rPET to enhance product shelf appeal and are available in the style of a hinged box or tray and lid combination.
The “Freshware” range was launched in February (see Plasteurope.com of 13.02.2013) and followed major investment by Linpac to develop its Freshform division. New flexible thermoforming capacity has been installed at its Featherstone site in the UK to support the local and European business, alongside its major “Freshware” plant in Pravia / Spain.
