The plastic returnable packaging operations in the UK of Linpac Allibert (Walsall, West Midlands / UK; www.linpacallibert.com) are to be consolidated onto a single site in Winsford, Cheshire. This will see the closure of its production plants in Walsall and Bromsgrove, with all existing manufacturing machinery and tooling transferred to Winsford. Some 100 new jobs are being created at Winsford and employees from the other two sites are being offered the opportunity to relocate.

Managing director Laurence Tanty says the consolidation will allow Linpac Allibert to strengthen its market position by further increasing manufacturing efficiencies. A new UK sales and marketing office to support Winsford’s activities will be located in the West Midlands. The Winsford site is also home to the test centre of Intellident, the Linpac Allibert business that manages the design of asset tracking software and develops RFID enabled technology.
