LEHMANN & VOSS
Exhibiting range of new products at "JEC World" / Developments for 3D printing and composites
Germany’s Lehmann & Voss (LuV, Hamburg; www.lehvoss.de) has announced that it will be exhibiting a variety of new products at this month’s "JEC World" (www.jeccomposites.com) trade fair in Paris / France – see Plasteurope.com of 01.03.2018. New developments include "Luvatol" for vacuum infusion and thermosetting resins, "Peel Ply" for vacuum infusion, "Luvotrent TL" internal mould release additives, "Luvatine VC" wetting and dispersing agent, "Luvocom 3F" for 3D printing and "Luvocom 1114", a carbon fibre-reinforced compound.

Two new Peel Ply products are being presented. Peel Ply 21 EP is a combination of a polyamide-based Peel Ply and LuV’s "Blue 21" epoxy spray adhesive that has a tested compatibility with epoxy resins. Peel Ply ER is a modified grade for PU applications.

LuV said the addition of its proprietary Luvotrent additives to complex thermosetting resins and polymer systems allows for multiple benefits, including faster cycles, easy mould release, improved flow, reduced resin viscosity, improved dispersion of pigments/fillers, bettering of surface and reduce wear and tear on dies and tools.

The Luvatine VC range has been designed to solve problems relating to wetting and dispersing of fillers and pigments, which LuV said arise repeatedly during manufacturing of open and closed mould thermosetting compounds.

With regard to 3D printing, LuV has developed Luvocom 3F for extrusion-based processes. This product line is based on a large number of thermoplastic polymers such as PET, PA and PEEK. The materials are said to have good printability, high strength and non-warping properties. LuV also offers tailor-made materials to match customers’ requirements.

Finally, the company said its Luvocom 1114 carbon fibre-reinforced compounds are characterised by their very high temperature stability and chemical resistance. The high-strength compounds are based on PEKK
