The agreement in principle reached between La Seda de Barcelona (LSB, Barcelona / Spain; www.laseda.es) and Control PET SGPS (Lama / Portugal), a subsidiary of Imatosgil Investimentos, for the latter’s acquisition of Artenius Portugal’s PET plant in Portalegre / Portugal (see Plasteurope.com of 04.05.2011) has been formalised into an official purchase. The facility’s price has been fixed at EUR 5.6m, payable between 2011 and 2015, although LSB said that figure could increase pending the plant’s productivity during that time frame.

In its press release, the Barcelona group speculates that the plant could be operating again in July, meaning the facility is currently idle and probably has been since the end of last year – see Plasteurope.com of 08.04.2011.
