LANXESS
PA and PBT product portfolios extended / Processing times and energy consumption reduced
German chemical and plastics producer Lanxess (Cologne; www.lanxess.com) has extended its ranges of easy-flowing PA 6, PA 6.6 and PBT compounds that offer shorter cycle times along with lower energy consumption.
“Durethan” BKV 30 XF is a PA 6 with 30% glass fibre content and features a mechanical property profile that is almost identical to that of its predecessor and also produces improved surfaces in applications including mounts and brackets in cars, the company said. Three PA 6 compounds – “Durethan” BG 30 X XF, BG 30 X H2.0 XF and BG 30 X H3.0 XF – are reinforced with a 30% mix of glass fibres and microbeads and exhibit improved flowability and low warpage.
Non-reinforced PBT compound “Pocan” B 1205 XF has been developed to meet needs in the trend toward miniaturisation in the electrical engineering and electronics sectors. The company said it is ideal for complex components with thin wall thicknesses, such as mini plugs.
