New recycling plant in Austria / PET capacities expanded
At the beginning of this year, Austrian recycler Kruschitz (Völkermarkt; www.kruschitz-plastic.com) started up a new recycling facility in Kühnsdorf / Austria. The plant is capable of treating 40,000 t/y of post-consumer HDPE, LDPE, PP and PS, CEO Werner Kruschitz told PIE.

The group also has expanded PET recycling capacities at its main plant in Völkermarkt to 35,000 t/y. Kruschitz had invested about EUR 20m in both sites following the merger with Ovopet Verpackungsproduktion at the beginning of 2009.
