German machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei (KM, Munich; www.kraussmaffei.com) has a new sales partner in Iran. Through its Krasifam (KSF) holding company, family-run KaranSimaFam (Tehran / Iran; www.karansimafam.com/kraussmaffei) will take over all handling of KM’s customers in the country. That includes advice in the operation of machines and automation, commissioning as well as other services. KSF is currently building a new administrative and service building in Tehran, which will include a spare parts storage facility.

The new partner will allow KM to expand its market position in injection moulding and reaction technology, the German group hopes. At the same time, KM intends to exploit the growth potential it sees in the Iranian automotive, packaging and medical technology segments. These markets will require many new injection moulding machines with a high degree of automation and a wide range of clamping forces, the company predicts.
