German machinery specialists show a stable Q2 with only a slight dip in sales
German plastics machinery maker KraussMaffei (KM, Munich; www.kraussmaffei.com) has generated USD 358m (EUR 268m) in sales for the second quarter according to its Canadian private equity owners Onex (Toronto; www.onex.com). In the first three months of 2013, the injection moulding specialists had revenues of USD 308m, cumulatively for the first six months of the year, USD 666m (nearly EUR 500m). On balance, the company showed an identical loss for both quarters of USD 15m. For its last year on its own – 2011/12 – it recorded revenues of USD 1.3 bn with the business year ending back then on 30 June.
Onex, which owns 97% of the Bavarian-based company, completed the purchase in December 2012 for EUR 568m – see Plasteurope.com of 07.01.2013. The Canadian company also owns the US extrusion technology specialist Davis-Standard (Pawcatuck, Connecticut; www.davis-standard.com), which it purchased in 2011 – see Plasteurope.com of 10.01.2012.
