German machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei (KM, Munich; www.kraussmaffei.com) recently officially inaugurated a second production hall at its site in Sucany / Slovak Rebublic. The new building doubles the site’s capacities. CEO Jan Siebert said the opening took place ahead of schedule, which had been set for the first quarter of 2013. He added the doubling of capacity was an important step for KM to meet growing demand in both Eastern Europe and Asia for electrical injection moulding machines as well as machinery for reaction technology.
By increasing the production space from 6,600 m2 to 13,000 m2, KM has also expanded its product portfolio in Sucany. In future, the plant will also turn out the group’s EX range of injection moulding machines, linear robots as well as machinery for reaction technology. KM has been producing its AX injection moulding machines as well as switchboards and tools in Sucany, where it currently counts 200 employees.
