KRAUSS-MAFFEI
Positive trend in plastics machinery in 1995 / DM 50m investment in expansion
Krauss Maffei's plastics machinery division, Krauss-Maffei Kunststofftechnik GmbH (D-80997 Munich), plans to spend some DM 50m on expansion of manufacturing and assembly plant for its "C series" (400-2,000 kN) injection moulding machinery, as well as its testing facilities. Thanks to an encouraging upturn in demand for injection moulding and extrusion machinery since mid 1994, sales volume has expanded "considerably," the Munich-based group said at "K '95". Only reaction machinery has failed to live up to business expectations. For 1995, Krauss-Maffei's machinery offshoot projects a 15% rise in overall new order volume to DM 550m. Consolidated sales are expected to rise nearly 13% to DM 520m. The share represented by foreign sales is currently around 70%, with a "rising tendency," management said in Düsseldorf. After poor earnings in 1994, results are expected to be "positive" in 1995.
