Thermoplastic elastomer specialist Kraiburg TPE (Waldkraiburg / Germany; www.kraiburgtpe.com) is expanding its TPE range for dental and oral hygiene products to include types with adhesion to polyamide. The “Thermolast K” compounds meet the food and drug administration requirements specified by regulation (EU) 10/2011 and China’s GB 4806 regulations for food-contact (FC) materials.

The new additions to Kraiburg’s portfolio are the FC/AD/PA series for multicomponent applications with polyamides (PA 6, PA 6.6 and PA 12) and FC/AD1 series for composites with polyesters (PET or PETG, PC, ABS and blends of these materials).

Thermolast K compounds are recyclable and can be used for manual and electric toothbrushes, interdental sticks and tongue cleaners, baby teething rings, soothers and teats for baby bottles. They are also suitable for razors and electric shavers.
