Krahn Chemie (Hamburg / Germany; www.krahn.de) has announced its acquisition of Memolex's (Milly-la-Forêt / France; www.memolex.eu) distribution business, and the creation of Krahn France. To ensure a smooth transition, the former Memolex team has been transferred to Krahn France, and will be operating from the former Memolex site in Milly-la-Forêt.
The French plastic additives distributor was founded in 1986 and established a PVC additives business in 1992. In 2008, its partnership with Polyram Israel (Ram-On / Israel; www.polyram-group.com) became a subsidiary for technical polymers, Polyram France, of which Memolex is the exclusive distributor in France and the Benelux region. According to Memolex, it generates annual sales of more than EUR 15m.
In 2016, Krahn Chemie generated turnover of around EUR 220m, with about 160 employees. It has subsidiaries or local sales teams in Italy, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Benelux and France. Krahn has a distribution agreement with Oxea (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.oxea-chemicals.com) to market the US company's plasticisers in France – see Plasteurope.com of 04.02.2016.
