KRAHN CHEMIE
Agreement to distribute Toho Tenax carbon fibres in Europe
German distributor Krahn Chemie (Hamburg; www.krahn.de) has expanded its portfolio with the addition of chopped and milled carbon fibres from Toho Tenax Europe (Wuppertal / Germany; www.tohotenax-eu.com), which it will begin marketing throughout Europe immediately. Used mainly in technical and high-temperature thermoplastic resins, the “Tenax” short fibres aire said to enhance electrical conductivity and mechanical performance.
Whereas “Tenax” chopped fibres are available in various finishes from 3mm to 25mm in length, the milled fibres are supplied as fine powder, making them particularly suitable as additives.
The Toho Tenax Group has production sites in Japan, Germany, and the United States and is part of the Teijin Group, based in Japan. At the recent "Composites Europe" tradefair in Essen / Germany, the company showcased two new semi-finished products, "Tenax ThermoPlastics" and "Tenax Net Shape Preform" – see also Plasteurope.com of 20.09.2010.
