Korea Engineering Plastics (KEP, Europe: Wiesbaden / Germany; www.kep-europe.com) has expanded its range of technical polymers with the introduction of “Kepital” H100, a highly viscous, self lubricating polyacetal (POM) homopolymer. The material's mechanical characteristics include a wider processing window, enhanced thermal aging and colour stability, improved friction and wear properties, shock resistance and higher creep resistance.
The compound’s material properties make it especially suitable for the production of plastic gears, the company said. It offers high abrasion resistance and low noise generation and has a low coefficient of friction when used as a mating material of either metal or plastic.
