KOLON PLASTICS
Three versatile TPE grades introduced
South Korea’s Kolon Plastics (Seoul; www.kolonplastics.com) has introduced the “Kopel” range of thermoplastic copolyester elastomers (TPE-E), which is being distributed by Nordmann, Rassmann (Hamburg / Germany; www.nrc.de) in Germany. The range is available in general, UM (upper molecular weight) and HR (high resilience) grades.
“Kopel” KP3328 has a low modulus and Shore hardness of 28D. It contains no toxic or hazardous materials and can be processed using conventional methods such as injection moulding and extrusion and is suited to the manufacture of artificial leather, the company said. The material offers good processability and recycling as well as high flexibility at low temperatures. It has good resistance to weather, chemicals and high temperatures, Kolon added.
