Acquisition of AMB's polypropylene and polystyrene rigid film activities
Film manufacturer Klöckner Pentaplast (KP, Montabaur / Germany; www.kpfilms.com) on 16 March announced that it had acquired the polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS) mono- and multi-layer rigid film activities of AMB (San Daniele del Fruili / Italien; www.ambpackaging.com). The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Commenting on the deal, Giles Peacock, vice president of KP’s Packaging business, said the investment “supports our strategic growth plans for 2011.”
AMB will continue to run the plant in San Daniele del Fruili, where it will manufacture its other products, including rigid (PET, SBS) and flexible (BOPET, PA, OPP, EVOH) films.
