KIEFEL EXTRUSION GMBH
Paul Kiefel Extrusionstechnik renamed / More active in Asia / Stronger internet presence
The new company name of the former Paul Kiefel Extrusionstechnik GmbH is now Kiefel Extrusion GmbH (D-67457 Worms; www.kiefel-extrusion.com). The new name demonstrates the recent restructuring which has taken place at Kiefel, one of the leading worldwide suppliers of blown film extrusion systems. “The new company name additionally stresses our international orientation – an important aspect of the change in name,” Marketing Director Eberhard Wenger explains.

The modernity and increased service-orientation of Kiefel takes effect in the internet presence. Visitors find there not only the wide range of products on offer, but also details of the company philosophy, employment vacancies and much more.

Kiefel Extrusion GmbH is one of the worldwide leading suppliers of blown film extrusion systems. The company continually extends and intensifies its existing market activities in the Asian region. It is already represented in Iran, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and Malaysia. Kiefel has been supplying an increasing number of plants to Asia during recent years. The company established connection with China for the first time this year. The Chinese economy opens up prospects with long-term growth potential.

Kiefel is a supplier of complete extrusion systems for blown film with modular design. The product range extends from singlelayer plants up to complex multilayer lines for up to 7 layers. Extruders are supplied with screw diameter from 30 mm to 120 mm depending on the application and required throughput quantities and layflat width up to 3,200 mm. A wide range of plastics materials can be processed with the blown film extrusion lines, such as PE, PP, EVOH, PA, PS, EVA and PET.

Product development support in its own customer show room and R&D laboratory belongs equally to the range of services of this machinery manufacturer. Further customer advantages arise from the successful integration of Wintech Winding Technology AG (CH-8853 Lachen) within Kiefel Extrusion GmbH. This Swiss machinery manufacturer belongs among the technology leaders in film winding systems.

Kiefel Extrusion GmbH, part of Renolit AG (D-67509 Worms), achieved sales of about EUR 30m in 2000 with about 230 employees. There are more than 3,000 lines from this blown film specialist in operation worldwide. The combination of Wintech, Kiefel and Renolit into one company group – “The Film Technology Group” – which reached overall sales of around EUR 700m in 2000, enables numerous synergies. Binding together of know-how creates new possibilities for the transfer of technology and its procurement. This not only benefits the three enterprises, but, in particular, the customer as well.
