New impact-resistant POM grades launched ahead of "Fakuma"
KEP Europe (Wiesbaden / Germany; www.kep-europe.com) is introducing several new "Kepital" grades ahead of this year’s "Fakuma" trade fair (www.fakuma-messe.de), held in Friedrichshafen / Germany from 13-17 October. Both Kepital TE-22S and TE-23S are impact-resistant POM grades with well-balanced mechanical properties and high flow line rigidity.
Another addition to the portfolio of the company, which is part of Korea Engineering Plastics (KEP, Seoul / South Korea), is Kepital ST high impact-resistant POM. The grade is also characterised by a low elasticity module and high flexibility, the company said. KEP offers the grade – which combines the characteristics of TPE-E with those of POM – as an alternative to thermoplastic polyester elastomers.
Key application fields include mechanical and functional components that require impact resistance, robustness, durability and noise reduction.
With overall capacity for 145,000 t/y, KEP purports to be one of the world’s leading POM producers. Its Kepital range comprises more than 200 different types sold across more than 100 countries.
