Swedish injection moulder KB Components (Örkelljunga; www.kbcomponents.com) has acquired Canadian moulder Lakeside Plastics (Windsor, Ontario; www.lakesideplastics.com) in an asset deal for an undisclosed amount. The Swedish company assumed control of the Canadian shop on 1 November 2021 and plans to merge its own activities in Windsor with the newly acquired operations. The combined entity, according to KB, is projected to have turnover of over CAD 70m (EUR 48.5m) in 2022.
With annual sales of CAD 25m, Lakeside Plastics produces high-volume injection-moulded plastic parts for the automotive industries in North America, Central America, Asia and Europe. With the latest purchase, KB Components expects to add customers from the electrical vehicle segment to its portfolio and strengthen the group’s position in the North America.
The company’s portfolio caters to light and heavy vehicles, furniture, lighting, and medical applications, and KB expects group turnover to increase to EUR 170m. It has four production sites in Europe, one in Asia, and three in North America.
