Swedish firm buys Danish plastic parts producer DKI Plast / Injection moulding and extrusion facility in Slovakia
KB Components (Örkelljunga / Sweden; www.kbcomponents.com) has bought Danish-owned plastics components producer DKI Plast (Žilina / Slovakia; www.dkiplast.eu), enabling the Swedish acquirer to expand its customer base and global manufacturing capabilities. DKI Plast has about 250 employees at its sole manufacturing facility in Žilina, northern Slovakia. In 2013, the company moved its operations there from Denmark. It is a supplier of injection moulded and extruded components to the lighting, furniture and industrial sectors.
KB Components has production facilities in Sweden (at Örkelljunga and Anderstorp), Kaunas / Lithuania, Puebla / Mexico and Wuxi, Jiangsu / China. Lars Holtskog, KB Components vice president, will become CEO of DKI Plast.
Turnover of the combined group will be more than EUR 100m, including the EUR 18m from DKI Plast. Its customers are from the automotive, lighting, medical and chrome plating industries.
DKI Plast has been owned by the Nielsen family since its establishment in 1946. Carl Nielsen runs the daily operations, and KB Components says he is very pleased that the company will still be a part of a family-owned business with a long-term commitment for growth.
