Hungarian injection moulding company Kunplast Karsai, which is part of the plastics processing group Karsai Holding (Szekesfehervár / Hungary; www.karsai.hu), plans to expand production in Kiskunfélegyhaza. It will invest the equivalent of around EUR 4.5m in the project, about half of which will be funded by the country's economics ministry.
With the money, managing director Róbert Alter wants to build a new hall and install more injection moulding machines. 20 new jobs are to be created. At present, 220 employees manufacture technical parts for automotive and E&E applications at the site.
Under its founder, president and CEO Bela Karsai, the company has in the last few years grown to become Hungary's largest plastics processor with subsidiaries and plants in both Romania and Serbia. Overall, the Karsai group has some 300 injection moulding machines, mostly for technical parts as well as a packaging division and mould manufacturing operations (see Plasteurope.com of 07.03.2005).
