New Arpro flame retardant for enclosure solutions
Adding to its “Arpro” range of resins, JSP International (Tokyo / Japan; www.jsp.com) has introduced an “Arpro FR” flame-retardant grade capable of moulding components that pass the UL94 HF-1 standard for flame-retardant safety. “Arpro FR is the first product of its kind – manufactured without the use of environmentally harmful halogenated chemicals and yet meeting the exacting industry standards for flame-retardant materials,” said Paul Compton, CEO Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Arpro FR extends the grade’s range of applications, since its light weight and impact resistance can be deployed into HF1 requirement categories. Its use in electronic and eletrical devices enables lighter and more protective Arpro products without the loss of integral strength, improved durability or economic benefits. As such, if Arpro FR is introduced to HVAC components, manufacturers can gain up to 75% savings in assembly time thanks to component reduction and process simplification as well as thermal benefits.
