Significant expansion of BOPP film production in India

Jindal Poly Films (JPFL, New Delhi; www.jindalpoly.com) is planning to build a plant for biaxially-orientated polypropylene (BOPP) films in Nashik, Maharashtra, India. The plant, with a planned capacity of 60,000 t/y, is scheduled to commence operations in the second half of 2025; the investment will amount to around INR 2.5 bn (EUR 27 mn).

At the production site in the Indian state of Maharashtra, Jindal already has capacities of 294,000 t/y of BOPP, 170,000 t/y of BOPET, and 33,000 t/y of PP cast film (CPP).

While the site in Asia is to be expanded, Jindal Poly Films shut down a plant in Kerkrade in the Netherlands in spring 2024. In Europe, Jindal Poly Films operates plants in Neunkirchen (Germany), Virton (Belgium), and Brindisi (Italy).
