JINDAL FILMS
Expansion planned at Italian facility / Part of "aggressive" growth strategy for specialty films business
BOPP producer Jindal Films (New Delhi / India; www.jindalfilms.com) is expanding extrusion and metallising capacities at its plant in Brindisi / Italy. An additional orientation line will be installed by the fourth quarter of 2016, which will raise output by more than 50,000 t/y and improve production flexibility. A metalliser is expected to start up in the second quarter of next year, adding 10,000 t/y of capacity. Scott Van Winter, CEO and executive president of Jindal Films, said the investment underscores the company’s confidence to aggressively grow the speciality films business, adding that the company is able to leverage exceptional technology and a solid asset base with a global presence.
Jindal Films’ products include “Bicor”, “Oppalyte” and “Metallyte” films for packaging applications, and “Label-Lyte” for label uses. The company also operates plants in Virton / Belgium, and Kerkrade / the Netherlands, as well as in the USA at LaGrange, Georgia, and Shawnee, Oklahoma.
