Spanish group upgrades production centre in Ibi
With an investment of approximately EUR 3.5m, rigid packaging manufacturer ITC Packaging (Ibi / Spain; www.itc-packaging.com) has recently completed the expansion and renovation of its production site in Ibi near Alicante. The group said it has increased production space by 20%, and there is a dedicated area of 2,500 m² for production and storage. ITC Packaging said it also improved the plant's efficiency by updating its injection moulding machinery.

The building upgrades also factored in sustainability, including improvements aimed at reducing water and electricity consumption. ITC Packaging has also merged its two injection moulding rooms, and it said adjusting this space has led to an increased production area as well as optimised the quality and hygiene standards of its injection moulding rooms.
There are two new warehouses at the Ibi plant for raw material supply and in-mould labelling (IML). The new space for raw materials has a warehouse that is 14 m high, with storage capacity increased to 1,500 pallets. The IML warehouse has capacity for 120m in-mould labels.
The Spanish group manufactures IML and sleeve-decorated PP and PET packaging for the food, cosmetics and paints sectors. It has two production plants in Ibi and one in Sopelana / Spain, which was acquired from Coveris in 2014 – see Plasteurope.com of 01.08.2014. In 2018, ITC Packaging generated turnover of EUR 57m.
