INTERPLASTIC-WERKE AG
EVC shuts down Austrian subsidiary / "Concentration on core business"
Europe's largest PVC manufacturer, EVC International NV (HQ: Boulevard du Souverain 360, B-1160 Brussels), has pulled the plug on its Austrian processing subsidiary, Interplastic-Werke AG (IPW, PO Box 293, A-4600 Wels). Production is to be shut down at the end of this year to allow EVC to concentrate on its "core business of PVC production." IPW, which currently employs 280, has been a perennial lossmaker. This past summer, the PVC floor coverings business was sold to Gerflor SA (50, Cours de la Republique, F-G0927 Villeurbane Cedex).

Customers for IPW's PVC films and sealing sheets will be supplied by EVC's UK subsidiary Weston Vinyls. In Germany, the agent is Polysale GmbH (Brigidastr. 6, D-50389 Wesseling-Berzdorf).
