INFIANA
Strengthening of North American films business / Additional extruder capacity to be installed in Pennsylvania
Infiana (Forchheim / Germany; www.infiana.com) is to invest in additional extruder capacity at its site in Malvern, Pennsylvania / USA as the first capacity expansion in its global growth plan. The expansion will support the company’s diversification into new product segments, while continuing to support its market leading position in building and construction, it said. Robert Shumoski, general manager Infiana North America, said: “The additional capacity will improve service levels and open up new opportunities in the building and construction and pressure sensitive markets as well as strengthening our capabilities to supply high quality products in the growing composites and personal care markets in North America.”
Around 100 employees are presently supplying silicone coated release films and non-siliconised smooth and embossed films at the company’s Malvern location. The output from the site primarily serves the building and construction industry, the pressure sensitive markets, and the composites market.
Infiana is the former films business of Huhtamaki (Espoo / Finland; www.huhtamaki.com) that was acquired through an MBO at the beginning of 2015 – see Plasteurope.com of 16.01.2015.
