Chemical trading company Impag (Zurich / Switzerland; www.impag.com) is distributing Ineos Pigments’ titanium dioxide in Switzerland and Liechtenstein since the beginning of April 2020. The titanium dioxide manufacturer belongs to the Ineos group (London / UK; www.ineos.com), and with two production plants in Ashtabula, Ohio / USA is the second largest producer of TiO2 in North America. The company claims to be the leading manufacturer of titanium chemicals.
Ineos acquired the white pigment assets of TiO2 producer Cristal Global (Jeddah / Saudi Arabia) from Tronox (Stamford, Connecticut / USA; www.tronox.com) in 2019 (see Plasteurope.com of 29.04.2019). The US company divested the Ohio businesses to satisfy US antitrust requirements for taking over Cristal.
Impag has been supplying raw materials, semi-finished and finished products for over 100 years, with a focus on the material science and life science markets. Its Performance Chemicals division supplies products for plastics, paints, varnishes, adhesives and building materials as well as for the paper and lubricants industries.
