Innovene PP process selected for Yanchang Petroleum project in China
Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yanan Energy and Chemical has selected Ineos Technologies’ (Lyndhurst / UK; www.ineos.com) “Innovene” PP process for a new project in Shaanxi / China. The Chinese company, part of Yanchang Petroleum (Yanan, Shaanxi; http://english.sxycpc.com), plans to build a 300,000 t/y plant for the manufacture of homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers. Output will meet growing Chinese demand, Ineos Technologies said.

Pete Grant, business director at Ineos Technologies, said the PP project is expected to start up in 2014.

Ineos Technologies is already supplying its processes for another Yanchang Petroleum project. Located in Yulin, Shaanxi, the project is being implemented by Yanchang Petroleum subsidiary Yulin Energy and Chemical and includes a 300,000 t/y Innovene PP plant and a 300,000 t/y Innovene S PE plant. Start-up is scheduled for 2013, Grant said.
