RecyClass certification for Eco grades / Haier selects Novodur ABS for refrigerator door application
German styrenics specialist Ineos Styrolution (Frankfurt; www.ineos-styrolution.com) said its Terluran Eco MR and Novodur Eco MR grades of sustainable mechanically recycled ABS copolymers have received RecyClass (Brussels, Belgium; www.recyclass.eu) certification.

The certification is valid for the company’s Terluran Eco ABS grades that incorporate 50% and 70% recycled content, respectively, and its Novodur Eco MR speciality ABS solutions offered in grades containing 30% to 70% post-consumer mechanically recycled content (PCR).

Ineos Styrolution also announced that the Thai business unit of Chinese home appliance manufacturer Haier (Qingdao, Shandong; www.haier.com) has selected its Novodur 680 injection moulding ABS for the launch of a premium one-door refrigerator product. The grade is being used in a door cap application and eliminates cracking during a step in the production of the refrigerator door when polyurethane foam is injected.
