European Bioplastics elects new board, managing director and secretary general
On 28 April 2009 European Bioplastics (Berlin / Germany; www.european-bioplastics.org) elected former board chairman Harald Käb as secretary general. In his new role, he will be spokesman and political advisor to this industry association.

The new board has been extended to seven members, with Andy Sweetman (Innovia Films) as chairman and Francesco Degli-Innocenti (Novamont) and Jöran Reske (Interseroh) as vice-chairmen. The other board members are Philipp Depiereux (Alesco), Jens Hamprecht (BASF), Erika Mink (Tetra Pak) and Hans van der Pol (Purac), who was elected treasurer. Two permanent working groups have been set up on “Bioplastics and the Environment” and “Waste and Recovery”.
On 1 March 2009 European Bioplastics appointed a new managing director as part of its structural expansion: Hasso Pogrell, formerly managing director of the German Sawmill Association (www.saegeindustrie.de) is now responsible for the association's internal affairs.
