Distribution pact for medical elastomer compounds from Turkey
Dutch distributor IMCD (Rotterdam; www.imcdgroup.com) has signed an exclusive agreement to distribute the medical range of TPE-S and TPV compounds produced by Elastron Kimya (Gebze-Kocaeli / Turkey; www.elastron.com). The pact, which applies to Europe and India, covers rubber closures and syringes as well as a range of pharmaceutical and healthcare applications.

The Turkish company established in 1980 was one of the first to produce and market SBS-based TPE compounds under a secrecy agreement with Kraton Performance Polymers (Houston, Texas / USA; www.kraton.com). It launched its EPDM/PP-based TPVs in 1996, and now exports its products to more than 40 countries including the US, Germany, the UK and France as well as Russia, where it claims to be the number one supplier.
