IGS HIGH TECH
Dutch moulder acquired out of bankruptcy by investor group / Synergies with Gebo Jagema
Precision injection mould manufacturer IGS High Tech (Tilburg / The Netherlands; www.igshightech.nl) has been acquired out of bankruptcy by Vado (Eindhoven), investment vehicle of the Van Doorne family, who founded the DAF automotive brand. Sellers are the Mols and Mannaerts families. Peter Mertens, managing director and partner since 2001, will remain a co-shareholder. The terms of the deal were not announced.

The new owner said it sees “a globally increasing demand for high-quality precision moulds and parts.” To drive the business forward, it has developed a “High Precision Concept” to exploit synergies between the specialist in medical/pharmaceutical applications and another of its holdings, Gebo Jagema (Valkenswaard / The Netherlands; www.gebojagema.nl), a manufacturer of dies and moulds made of plastics and metals.
Both companies will continue to operate independently, Vado said. According to a Dutch press report, Gebo Jagema, with 35 employees, and IGS High Tech are now about the same size. A year ago the latter company had 80 employees, but staff numbers are said to have dwindled considerably. Putting the two together will restore critical mass, the report said, quoting Vado managing board member Edgar Knip.
