HUSKY
Injectoplast business sold to Alpla Holding
In a deal the financial details of which were not disclosed, Husky Injection Molding Systems (Bolton, Ontario / Canada; www.husky.ca) announced that it had signed a deal with Austria’s Alpla Holding (Hard; www.alpla.com) for the latter to acquire Injectoplast (Waidhofen an der Thaya / Austria), the former closure injection moulding operation of KTW (Waidhofen an der Thaya / Austria; www.ktw-group.com). The transaction is expected to close before the end of Q1 2012.
The sale comes as no surprise given that at the time when the Canadian plastics machinery manufacturer acquired KTW in early 2011, it announced that it would be divesting Injectoplast due to potential conflicts with its existing injection moulding customers.
