Currency translations boost European sales
Canadian injection moulding specialist Husky (Bolton, Ontario / Canada; www.husky.ca) has reported a 5% decline in sales for fiscal 2004 (31 July) to USD 774m, due for the most part to the weak US market. European sales increased by 23%, thanks overwhelmingly to the currency translation effect. On the whole, the company said the current business outlook is better than a year to date, although it expected to show a loss for the first quarter of the fiscal year. Husky said it remains “cautiously optimistic” about its order prospects. Order intake in fiscal 2004 increased for the third year running and totalled USD 839m (USD 714m in fiscal 2003).
